Tongue has function as tasting organ. The tongue also has function to help teeth for placing and mixing food, also help swallowing and pushing food so it enters into the throat (kerongkongan).
The tongue contains many papillae and nerve cells so we can fell tastes in food. The part end of tongue is sensitive to sweet taste, the tip (tepi) of tongue until side is sensitive to salty taste, edge (ujung) of tongue is sensitive to sour taste (rasa asam), and the beginning of tongue is sensitive to
bitter taste (rasa pahit).
